The X-Cite 120 Iris illumination system delivers rich spectral excitation with a uniformly illuminated field of view. The incorporation of a 5-step iris enables intensity adjustment to optimize specimen illumination and to help minimize photobleaching of fluorophores. Intensity levels can be adjusted to 100%, 50%, 25%, 12% and 0%. Intelli-Lamp temperature monitoring extends lamp lifetime in excess of 2,000 hours and the lamp is pre-aligned for simple changing. The X-Cite 120
Iris system is ideal for routine assays and can be placed remotely, which reduces vibration and heat at the microscope and optimizes workspace.
The powerful 120 W lamp used in the X-Cite 120 Iris provides excitation intensity comparable to, or better than, conventional mercury arc lamps. As an added benefit, the richer spectrum excites more fluorophores.
Long-life Lamp
With a 2,000-hour warranty and a typical lifetime of over 2,500 hours, the powerful 120 W X-Cite lamp has ten times the lifespan of a conventional mercury lamp, saving time and reducing operating costs.
Pre-aligned and Focused for Easier Installation
The days of difficult and cumbersome lamp changes and alignments are now gone. The X-Cite adaptor attaches easily onto an existing microscope light port. To change the bulb, simply remove the old one and click the new one in place.
Heat and Vibration Reduction
The X-Cite unit connects to the microscope with a liquid light guide. Remote placement of the unit ensures that no heat or vibration is transferred to the microscope and allows optimization of valuable workspace.
Intensity Adjustment
The X-Cite 120 Iris features a built-in 5-step iris for adjusting intensity to optimize specimen illumination and to help minimize photobleaching of fluorophores. Intensity levels can be adjusted to 100%, 50%, 25%, 12% and 0%.
Hot-strike Prevention
Hot strikes shorten lamp life and cause premature intensity degradation. The Intelli-Lamp continually monitors lamp temperature, preventing restrikes until the lamp cools to a 'safe-to-restart' state.
