What is Olympus 4K Microscopy?
It starts with a 4K image, but goes further. Olympus has improved how you use a digital camera on the microscope, with new possibilities and time savings. We call it 4K Microscopy, and it’s a new way of working with digital images that is faster, more precise and more convenient – every day.
Reveal more of your sample than ever before, down to the finest features, and produce publication-quality images with a single click. Push your image to the boundaries of the oculars and document large structures with ease.
Wide CaptureOvercome the traditional limitation of being able to capture just a part of what you see through the oculars. Olympus Wide Capture pushes the acquired image to the very edges of what you see through the eyepieces to ensure you can capture large structures in a single image. |
High ResolutionUsing our dense matrix of fine pixels fully utilizes the resolving power of your objectives. In fact, there are now situations where you can see more detail on screen than is visible through the oculars when using the SC180 camera. |
Show More
Truly engage your audience during presentations and encourage fruitful discussions involving every participant - without the need to share oculars.
4K Live Image4K Microscopy enables easy connection to 4K TVs and monitors for sharing your detailed images with your audience. 4K live image sharing makes your image the center of a lively discussion or an engaging presentation. |

Image Noise RemovalWhen you need images as a teaching aid, or for a publication or thesis, it must be of the highest quality and resolution. Image noise can hinder this, especially under challenging illumination conditions. Olympus Smart Image Averaging (OSIA) automatically removes noise in real time, so you can always be sure that you are seeing and showing more. |

Save Time
Simplify time-consuming operations and speed up your time-to-image, even with difficult samples.
Focus Peaking
Judging whether your sample is perfectly in focus can be challenging to do on screen. Avoid capturing many images and loosing time choosing the right one – utilize the on-screen indicator to know if and where your sample is in focus. With focus peaking you simply save time, as your first image will be the right one.

Fast Live
When the sample is dark or the illumination conditions are challenging, many cameras provide a slow and difficult-to-use live view. Olympus Fast Live ensures you save time, maintaining a minimum speed of 15 frames per second, which ensures a responsive live image and eliminates errors.
