Go beyond the resolution capabilities of 3D confocal laser scanning microscopy with FV-OSR (Olympus Super Resolution), a new software module for the FV3000. Easily upgrade to confocal super resolution and experience greater detail than ever before.
Through improved detection, specific hardware settings, optimized confocal aperture diameter, and signal processing, Olympus created a super resolution module with improved contrast. Olympus’ unique and proprietary FV-OSR technology realizes lateral (X-Y) resolution up to 120 nm.
Simultaneous Multicolor Super Resolution
Utilize the dye and wavelength flexibility offered by the FV3000 to generate multicolor super resolution images in up to 4 channels simultaneously. Thanks to the TruSpectral Detection concept the user can enjoy free detection settings at each super resolution channel.
Enhanced Cell and Tissue Imaging
Resolution is significantly improved in confocal microscopy as compared to wide-field microscopy. Despite the improved resolution, confocal images can suffer from poor contrast requiring image processing post-acquisition. FV-OSR features improved contrast for enhanced super resolution imaging.
High Sensitivity and Low Noise with Cooled TruSpectral Detector Technology
The super resolution algorithm works best with images that have an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. A special selection of GaAsP PMT detectors offers high sensitivity with up to 45 % quantum efficiency (QE). Olympus has optimized the GaAsP detectors for super resolution imaging by adding Peltier cooling technology to improve the signal-to-noise ratio.
